Pretty Little Treats

I’ve got a treat for anyone who reads my blog (which I realize is very few if no people at all) but if you do then you will get to hear about one of my favourite up and coming bands because they’re amazing. They’re called Kids of Survival and I believe that everyone should listen to them. Native of New York, Kids of Survival is made up of four pretty groovy guys and they’ve placed four of their songs on purevolume to download…for FREE! which means you should go download them and then listen to them and bask in KOS’ awesomeness before showing them love on their myspace or facebook!

This is the time of year

That needs a little love and a little joy. Walking around in this gross Maryland rain is making me so depressed and I don’t wanna be depressed. So I’m writing to see if it makes me feel any better. It’s almost Thanksgiving you guys! I love Thanksgiving, mainly because I get to bake and most of you don’t know, but I LOVE baking. It’s the best. Only have you guys heard about the freaking pumpkin shortage? It’s such a bummer. Pumpkin is like the best ingredient of all time. If I could make pumpkin in everything I would be happy. The best meal ever would be something with spinach and something with pumpkin. Maybe not together, but those would be like the best ingredients ever for a meal.

ANYWAYS!

I went to go see New Moon on Sunday. I really don’t like hating on people, but c’mon Kristen Stewart, you need to get an acting coach stat. She wasn’t as bad as like Audrina Patridge or someone on the Hills, but she was pretty darn close. Though she did look really pretty through out the whole movie. And though I hardly ever protest when there is a lot of guy taking off their shirts, I did not really care for all of the wolfy shirtless ness. What can I say I’m not a “tall, dark handsome” type of a girl. I’m a tall, pale, and british type of girl. Robert Pattinson was beautiful :P and there was not enough Jamie Campbell Bower in it. But it wasn’t terrible. I still think Twilight fans are crazy.

Epic Fail In The Works

So I saw a few months ago that they were trying to do an American version of the E4 hit show “Skins”, but I never thought it’d go anywhere because let’s face it, Americans are WAY to puritanistic for it ever to work! “Skins” is a show that is a highly exaggerated show about teens and sex and drug use and it’s amazing. Even if they can make the American version as brash and uninhibited as the British version, you’ll never be able to get the same feel from American actors (please if someone can be half as awesome as Joe Dempsie or Nicholas Hoult I’d like to meet them because they both have high standards of awesomeness). But according to “Oh No They Didn’t” casting as in fact begun on the American version of “Skins” and I’m highly not happy about this.

I love Leonardo DiCaprio. I haven’t always. When I was little I was scared of him because Titanic scared the bajesus out of me when i was young (come on I was 8 when the movie came out). But then he became a legitimate actor and I was no longer scared of him. So here’s to wishing Mr. Leo DiCaprio a happy 35th (yeah, he’s THAT old, hahah) birthday!

Oh yeah I felt the need to show the lovely trailer for one of Leo’s first movies, “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?”

Nicholas Hoult

So I have an unhealthy obsession with tall, skinny, slightly awkward looking British guys. Right now my obsession seems to be pointed towards Nicholas Hoult (it changes often, there are so many delicious Brits to choose from). Mr. Hoult has two movies that are about to be released (A Single Man, Clash of the Titans) and I couldn’t be happier. Many of you will look at Nicholas and be like “Is that the weird kid from About a Boy?” why yes it is and for those of you who do not particularly enjoy Hugh Grant movies, you may know him from the wildly popular E3 drama “Skins” (Epicness in it’s best form). For those of you Americans who do not enjoy my tastes in British cinema you probably do not know who he is at all. Well pooey on you and I have this overwhelming feeling that too many Americans will know who he is, like Dev Patel (who also starred in Skins with Nicholas Hoult) after last awards season.

I believe that everyone should go watch Skins in preparation for the onslaught of Nicholas Hoult I for see in our future and remember that Robert Pattinson is not the only sexy brit in the world <3

Kick-Ass

So I just put a link in the “Trailers” section for “Kick-Ass” starring Aaron Thomspon, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Nicholas Cage and for the life of me all I can think about is how I can not believe the guy in the green tights is going to play a young John Lennon. It just baffles me that the same guy is supposed to one of my idols. I have other issues with Aaron Thomspon, mainly that he is my age and engaged to a women who’s as old as my mother (she also happens to be the director of “Nowhere Boy”, the movie about John Lennon’s childhood.)

 

Anyways the movie doesn’t look all too bad though, I’ll probably see it for the simple reason that is does look pretty kick ass, tehehe.

Pink nails, wicked grin
She’s telling the world she’s full of win
It doesn’t matter where she’s going
Just know she’s gonna have some fun
Tonight’s the night to be with her
She’s in it to play the game.

Tight jeans, naughty eyes
She’s ready to tell the world what she spies.
It’s not that hard, just get on the floor
Or get your ass to the door
She just wants to play the game.

Hold her tight, but know it’s only for tonight
Tomorrow’s not in her vocabulary
She just wants to have some fun
If you want her, you’ll have to beat out the sun
